This week on Sustainability Now!, your host, Justin Mog, is delighted to have another chance to sit down with Jason Abbott, a political scientist who has just retired from UofL, where he was a professor and director of the Center for Asian Democracy, to become a stay-at-home parent and take this opportunity to get his hands dirty. Jason is looking to be more directly involved in local environmental organizations, including the Passionist Earth and Spirit Center, the Louisville Nature Center, and even Forward Radio.

In addition to hearing about that, we also take a serious dive into the concept of Deep Adaptation and the whole notion of preparing for the possibility of societal collapse as environmental change disrupts social, economic and political systems. More about Deep Adaptation is at https://jembendell.com/2019/05/15/deep-adaptation-versions/

And, of course, we couldn’t let a political scientist out of the studio without asking about the awful situation in the Middle East between Israel and the Palestinians and the role of the US in the continued apartheid oppression of the Palestinian people.

As always, our feature is followed by your community action calendar for the week, so get your calendars out and get ready to take action for sustainability NOW!
