On this week’s show, your host, Justin Mog, throws the first pitch with Ellen Trahan, Board Chair, of the Louisville Sustainability Council (LSC). The LSC is another local non-profit that, along with Forward Radio, will be participating in Give For Good Louisville on Thursday, Sept. 15th! Donations will help fund the LSC’s micro grant program, which will soon be opening applications for proposals in the 2022 cycle. The LSC is in its 12th year and we discuss its history and evolution over the years.

You’ll also get a preview of the 9th Annual Sustainability Summit, coming up on Oct. 6th, 1pm-4pm, and taking place virtually again this year. The theme of the Summit is “Louisville 2030: A Better Tomorrow Begins Today.” Highlights will include:
· Keynote – Douglas Edwards, Senior VP, Enterprise Associate & Business Solutions, Humana
· Panel– Building a City for Tomorrow: Featuring Large Infrastructure Scale Projects in Kentucky That Lay the Groundwork for a More Sustainable and Equitable Future
· Panel – From Vision to Visionary. The Artist’s Vision for a Sustainable Future
· After Party 5-7pm at Against the Grain. For every Oktoberfest beer sold, Against the Grain will donate $1.00 back to the LSC.
· Tickets: $20 for individual tickets, $200 for group or classroom tickets. (hold a watch party) If you are a student, represent a sustainability/equity organization, or are unable to comfortably afford a ticket to this event, please send us a message to [email protected] for a free sponsored ticket.
