Summer reading reviewing 2020 Man Booker Prize winner 'Shuggie Bain' by debut Scottish LGBT novelist Douglas Stuart. As hyper-masculine 1980's Glasgow, Scotland faces the final stages of it's 20th century socioeconomic decline, young Hugh "Shuggie" Bain finds his emerging queer identity keeps him isolated at home standing vigil over the final decline of his alcoholic mother Agnes.
