Dr Phil Smith is a Specialist in Flora, Fauna and insects on the Sefton Coast which includes Formby. He studies the creatures living on the dunes .
Here he talks about the Tiger Beetle - very rare insect that we have living on Formby Dunes . The Tiger Beetle are some of the fastest creatures on six legs. They keep stopping to survey their surroundings.

He also talks about Maran Grass, ragwort and moths living on the dunes - you may see the caterpillars crawling around.
