The Courier
 
Benedict Cumberbatch is a spy film should be all you need to get you into a seat in a theater.  In case you need more coaxing though- The Courier focuses on Grville Wynne, a British businessman recruited by MI6 to transport information back to London, using his cover of constant travel to Eastern Europe on business.  Espionage and information is how battles are fought in the 1960's in the Cold War.  The Courier is a well written, very competent spy film with a memorable score and edited actin sequences.  It's not for everyone but rewards you attention and devotion for the run time.  (7/10)
 
Yes Day (Netflix)
 
Parents of the world!  Would you ever give your kids a Yes Day?  I should hope not.  Unbelievable, script guided chaos follows.   Let's start with the best part of this film- Jennifer Garner- Her devotion to her family and her children, though she says no a lot.  Now, let's talk about the bad- the last 80 minutes of the 86 minutes run time.  This is a movie about a Yes Day- A day during which parents can not say no to any reasonable request from their children though obvious restrictions do apply- couldn't have been written by anyone with kids.  Nothing after this day starts is real or makes real sense, or would be real requests.  The absolute oaf of a Sheriff deputy simply doesn't exist- he's too dumb and unaware of real rules, among a dozen other red flags.  The reply, "It's a kids movie" simply isn't a good enough argument.  This movie only exists as a Netflix Original.  (2.5/10)
