On the Rocks (Apple TV+)

From director Sophia Coppola we get a comedy, drama, romance- With Bill Murray and Rashida Jones.  Laura is a young mother (Jones) who has a suspicion that her husband is having an affair and, with the help of her old world playboy father Murray), is able to spy on him and find out what the real story is.  Bill Murray is is wonderful as a larger than life playboy who hits on absolutely any woman he comes across.  His one liners and gravitas help to carry this other very mediocre movie with not much else to contribute other than Bill Murray.  Jones and Wayans (Nearly 50!) are good, don't get us wrong- they just aren't Bill Murray when this movie needed another person to help carry it.  (5.5/10)

One Night in Miami (Amazon)

Regina King!  Our hats go off to you.  Your praise you will undoubtedly receive is much deserved for this damn near masterpiece.  in this fictional story- young Malcolm X, Cassius Clay, Jim Brown and Same Cooke all gather after a decisive victory for Clay (Net yet Ali) and talk about the Civil Rights Movement in 1967.  What follows is a bit of a stage play adapted- Much like the recent Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (Netflix) and The Boys in the Band (also Netflix).  The dialogue and story beats move seamlessly and are paced extremely well with little to no waste and not a moment lost.  This is a MUST WATCH.  (9/10)
