Hello, Im Craig and welcome to another episode of Football Kit Memories - the football podcast that gets under the shirt

In today’s epsiode Im joined by football writer, presenter and co-host of the Searching For Shineys Pod - Matthew Kethcell.

During the show I talk to Matthew about his role at The Chronicle, covering Newcastle, Sunderland and Middlesborough in the North East, as well his previous role at the BBC’s Match of The Day Magazine. I first came across Matt on Twitter when I heard about the podcast he co-hosts with his friend Richie - The Searching For Shineys Pod - in which they try and interview every footballer from the 1997 Premier League sticker book. It’s well worth a listen and I enjoyed catching up with Matt about the reasons they set it up as well as update on the mission so far...

Later I asked Matthew to pick out three of his favourite football shirts and tell me a little bit about what they mean to him. As an ex-Goalkeeper, Matt dived into the early nineties to pick out an England  Chris Woods Umbro number from Euro 92. We stayed in between the sticks for a Pawel Srnicek classic for Newcastle by Asics. We finished talking about his beloved Toon and the season that could have been in 1995/96 with that red & blue hoped Adidas away.

Please do like, follow and share - but above all - enjoy the podcast
