Welcome back to episode #271! Today I have Kat Harris with me who is the co-founder of the online magazine, The Refined Women and host of The Refined Collective podcast. Kat is a Brooklyn based photographer, content creator and advocate for women. Her vision is to empower women to embrace their beauty, identity and value through storytelling and that is why she is here today!

“One of the best ways to figure out what you do or don’t want to do is to give it a shot…” At minute 3:10 we dive into Kat’s story, how she got involved in photography, where that journey took her and what it looked like along the way. Kat came from the sports world and entered the photography and media industry which was a different world than what she was used to.

“There’s always room for growth until our last breath…” At 8:30 we talk about letting go of the fear of failure in order to move forward and why it’s so important that we know we don't have to have it all together, all the time. Kat shares more of the journey to photography and what that looked like for her that led her to her online magazine and to be a positive figure for women.

“I don’t grow when I am the best…” At minute 13:48 Kat and I talk about how we can evolve into more than we ever envisioned and how self-doubt, not feeling good enough and waiting until the time is perfect to put ourselves out there can hurt us.

“I wanted to share my story…” At 15:33 Kat shares what her business looks like today from where it started. Kat tells us the effects that happened when she started sharing her life and opening up to help other women that has led to the evolution of her business.

“I have achieved a level of success that I am proud of, on my own…” At minute 18:25 we talk about how things will change and grow in your business and it won't always look the same from when you first started. We hear all about her new podcast The Refined Collective and how she decided to start it. Also, the power of masterminds and how they accelerated her business and self-growth. We talk about how important it is to surround yourself with certain people to motivate and help you through the struggles.

“There is power in giving space and grace to both men and women…” At 16:00 we talk more about The Refined Collective and The Refined Women. Kat shares why it’s important to include men in part of her business. Hear what Kat would go back and tell herself that she now knows.
