He was learning to cast & mend a fly line with his father at the age of 7 and learning ways to be prepared for situations he may face in the wilderness. As his fly fishing skills improved, he gained a love and passion for wild brown trout and the native brook trout found in the headwater streams of the north Georgia mountains. He started Southern Hackle Outfitters as way to raise awareness for these native fish and to bring new people into the sport of fly fishing.
