Charlotte is an up and coming young angler full of excitement and enthusiasm! We met Charlotte and her father at the Atlanta Fly Fishing Show earlier this year. She was eager to share her love of fly fishing with us and her passion for the sport is contagious! Charlotte does not hesitate when taking on a moving river, fly fishing classes, or learning new techniques with the support of her father. Charlotte is still in grammar school but she gets in her fishing time and continues to grow as an angler. Talking with Charlotte and other young anglers brings a fresh perspective to fly fishing and shows us the future of fly fishing is in good hands! Charlotte wants to continue improving her skills while sharing her passion with other new anglers. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Charlotte as she continues her fly fishing journey! Guest: Charlotte Bio: I was 3 or 4 years old when I started fly fishing. I really enjoyed it, so my dad took me out fishing more often when I was more comfortable doing it. My dad took me to a place called Bear Creek which is located right outside of Denver, Colorado. I am originally from Colorado, then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2017. My favorite place to fish is Rocky Mountain National Park. Here, we have caught more than 100 brook trout and cutthroat trout in one day! The reason I like it is because it is beautiful plus we would see many elk. Cataloochee located in Smoky Mountain National Park, is my second favorite place to fish. The campsites are nice, close to the river and fishing is great. We also see elk here like we used to see on our Rocky Mountain trips. (On one trip here, we saved a toad from getting run over on the road!!) I’m in the 5th grade. I don’t really talk about fly fishing at school, but I do want to talk to a local Trout Unlimited member and my teachers about trout in the classroom. I have been a Trout Unlimited member for many years.         This is Fly Girl Fish episode 033, first aired on 04/30/2020.
