EP 53 Jako Lucas, fish porn, mic drop, out such a glorious bastard of a fly fisher

  Episode Description:

In this episode the Fly-Fishing Insider Podcast, Greg speaks with Jako Lucas, the brains behind the captain jack productions brand based out of Texas USA.

 Greg & Jako talk about how when Jako was growing up in South Africa he was hooked as a young boy due his family’s influence in fishing with his dad. Jako also talks about his days of working in shops during school and then transitioning into becoming a full-time guide. Jako talks a lot about his earlier guiding career and how he was taught to learn moon phases, tides and wind direction which he says plays an important part of guiding properly.

We also learn from Jacko that he has fished all over the world for many species in many different environment’s a but holds a place in his heart for both Mongolia and South Africa his home country. Jako and Greg discuss the many species of fish that he a has chased and successfully caught he also gives us some tips on theses fish and where and how to find them briefly.

Later When Greg asks Jako about the captain jack productions we discuss his success with making theses films with the goal in mind to help  promote a fishery and perhaps show those who might not have the means to fish there a new fishery that exists and a opportunity to see it threw a film makers lens.  Jako and Greg talk all about the award-winning film “Glorious Bastards” which was based out of Australia and many much work went into this film in making sure that the blue bastard fish had its moment. We also talk about Jakos newest project and that is his clothing line Fly Religion, in which he is currently in mass production of fishing lifestyle apparel and working on technical apparel.
