The 4th Ashes Cricket Test is currently underway in Sydney with Australia taking on England at the SCG. But over the past 14 years, it’s become affectionately known as the Pink Test.
And Day 3 of that match is called Jane McGrath Day in memory of the late wife of former cricket great, Glenn McGrath, who died from breast cancer. The reason that Jane McGrath Day takes place every year is to raise money for the vital work done by the McGrath Foundation in the funding, training and running of its Breast Care Nurse program.
Today's guest is from Mildura in regional Victoria. Emma Reid was a single mum of 2 kids and just 32 years of age when she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2019. Her life was tipped upside-down. We spoke about her experience of living with breast cancer and the importance of having access to a Breast Care Nurse.
