It’s Episode 32 and angelic Adam and Michelle return for The Prophecy, the Christopher Walken fantasy thriller about evil angels. It’s Adam’s (Fixer International) choice and Michelle (Tempus Magazine) joins Helen and Kobi to review “the best angel film made” (quote Adam) in the war against heaven and hell. Featuring an early Viggo Mortensen appearance and Elias Koteas with hair, it’s also a favourite of Simon (Bigger Boat Film Quiz). It’s almost a cult classic but fails to win new fans with Helen and Kobi. Released in 1995 it looks and feels much older - the SFX are, well, a bit naff. Horror sceptic Kobi remains sceptic of the horror genre and Helen, a horror fanatic (and Elias Koteas fan) wasn’t impressed! The plot is too incoherent, it’s so slow and over indulgent and the acting is hammy, it neither works as a horror nor a fantasy.
Scores Unsurprisingly it doesn’t score highly, scoring 2.4, there will be fans of this out there but not Flixwatcher! If you do decide to give it a go - do not go for the big screen experience!! There are other films about angels, most of them much better, send us your favourites!
