All believers were promised the Holy Spirit of God in His time through many of the Old Testament prophets, John the Baptist told us of the promise in the same way through his ministry.  Today many hold to the error that unless a believer speaks in 'tongues' or has had a phenomenal experience or is able to work signs and wonders, they have not been baptised by the Holy Spirit.  These erroneous assertions can deplete the faith of some believers who have no such testimonies and could discourage them.  Some people feel inferior to the 'tongue' blasters and those who tell of some strange spiritual encounters.

There is no confusion in the Word of God given to us for our walk of faith, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit occurs in every person who puts their trust in Christ, without our requesting it, it is the gift of God as promised by our Lord Jesus Christ in John 14:15-17.

There is only ONE way to be a Christian!
