Choose life that you may live -30-19-. On the plains of Moab, a new generation of Israelites enter covenant with the LORD to go into the Promised Land and be his people. But total allegiance is required, and failure comes with stiff penalties-a cursed existence and expulsion from the Land. While it becomes clear that Israel will fail -30-1-3- 31-27-29-, the LORD promises a Prophet to lead his people who is greater than Moses, and Deuteronomy ends with hope anticipating that greater Moses to come -18-15, 18- 34-10-12- cf. Acts 3-22- Heb. 3-1-6-. That Prophet will be the way to eternal life and the only one who can ultimately save us from the covenant curse of the law -John 14-6- Gal. 3-10-14-.
