2 Corinthians 5:6-10
RE-CONCILE: In the New Testament, the Greek word underneath the family of English words associated with reconciliation is taken from the accounting industry where coins were “exchanged”, and accounts were “reconciled.”
Biblical reconciliation starts with the divine initiative of God to reconcile the whole world back to himself. God chose to do this through Jesus’ sacrificial, reconciling death on the cross. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, our account with God is settled back to its proper balance, not by our work and merit, but by the grace and love of God in Christ.
