”Deeply Defined” with special guest Janey Pitts

School has taught us a lot, but maybe one thing it has taught us poorly is to define words quickly for an exam and then forget about them after the test.  I feel as if we read the Bible the same way.  We look at what Jesus taught and try to get a quick definition so we don't have to think or worry about what the deeper meaning may be.  However, what if we did go deeper?  What if going deeper meant that we could obtain closer connection to God and how He wants us to live our lives?

Today, we have Janey Pitts on the show who is the author of "Deeply Defined: Understanding Who You Are In Christ" Janey shares her journey of faith that led her to write the book and how you can use the book to go into deep meaningful study of words that we commonly hear such as grace, mercy, and wisdom.  Janey also shows how deep study of these words can only grow our faith in Jesus and help us go on the path that Jesus wants us to be on!

For our challenge, we focus on 2 Corinthians 12:9 and define what grace is and how we obtain that grace in our own life.

Janey Pitts has a journalism degree from Samford University and a Masters degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She has served on church staffs for over fifteen years, and is the author of Deeply Defined: Understanding Who You Are in Christ.
