43. Street Fighter (1994)

(A Ben & Tom episode - prepare for bone dry humour and challenges to the absurd.)

Are you a Tight Arse?

This was not love at first sight.

Loosely (poorly) based on the Video game series of the same name, Street Fighter assembles an all-action expert fighting cast, including the All American - Muscles from Brussels himself, JCVD and the acting powerhouse known as Kylie... Minogue? Is your head spinning around right now?

I wish I could say to all the Video Game fans that Street Fighter was especially for you, but this ends up being a relatively slow, drawn-out affair, much like these episode notes. Better the devil, you know, I guess.

It may not be to anyone's surprise that we felt the need to Hadouken!! This into the sea. Yet, I can't get you out of my head, Street Fighter.

FilmFloggers would never condone excessive consumption, but If I were dysoning the amount of Coca-Cola JCVD was during filming, I would have leapt into a spontaneous rendition of The Loco-motion. Great song, mere coincidence Kylie sang it.

If it wasn't for Raúl Juliá's Shakespearean turn as Bison, expertly borrowing mannerisms from some of the world's great leaders, including Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, oh...wait. WOW

With my serious cap on, Raul's performance is fun, energetic and captures the spirit of what I'm guessing they were trying to do with this.

A mighty fine actor and an even better father by the sounds of it.
