34. 10 Things I Hate About You (1999)

(A Ben and Fiona episode - prepare for an Irish potty mouth and bullshit trivia)

10 Things I Hate About You is not quite a blow-for-blow adaptation of Shakespeare's classic 'film' (according to Fiona) 'The Taming of The shrew.' But it is one of the last hurrahs of the seminal 90s high school coming-of-age teen romantic comedy sex slasher musicals. You know the ones.!

So, apparently, all it takes to get cast for a dance film is to get up on the table at a party and start wiggling your hips to Biggie; who knew.?! And here's me - struggling my way through some episode notes when I could have had several sequels to Save The Last Dance in the bag and the Oscars on the shelf to prove it. ( I do need to work on my slut drop, though)

We find Chasity smugly strutting around, peacock feathers in full effect, boasting that she's someone's sloppy seconds -  a stellar performance from Gabrielle Union, considering I was gagging from the whiff of her characters foulness throughout.

I 'hate' many things about 10 Things but seeing a fresh-faced Heath ledger was not one of them. And by the sounds of it, sweet Heath gives Julia Stiles' Kat a much easier time compared to what her counterpart endured in Will's original 'film.'

Man crush for Patrick Verona? Affirmative.
