Part two in our UWF series starts off with a talk on UWF Newborn, the short-lived but extremely popular second iteration of UWF. Despite lasting just two years, the effect of UWF’s style was so pronounced and severe that fans still can feel the aftershock. We’d later discuss the subsequent off-shoot companies that came out of “UWF 2.0,” like Pancrase, RINGS, UWFi (or U-INTER), Fujiwara-gumi, plus other related combat groups like Shooto and K-1.The next episode will kick off midway through the ’90s, before the UWFi’s demise and ahead of its massive ’95–’96 collaboration with NJPW.
