Ryan Frederick and Paul Fontaine are back to recap the week that was in the world of MMA. They usually add "is to come" but UFC, and MMA as a whole, is pretty much in the closest thing they have to an off season right now with the next show scheduled in mid-January. This past weekend saw a pivotal fight in the middleweight division and the last fight of 2022 may have been the closest as Jared Cannonier edged out a split decision over Sean Strickland. The guys break down that fight and the rest of the card that saw some real good showings on the undercard. The question of the week and "We Have to Talk About" segments are somewhat intertwined as they look ahead to 2023 in terms of business, fights they want to see and who are the betting favorites to be champions at the end of the year. The news of the week has the UFC's return to South Korea postponed, a big star having to pull out of UFC 284 in Australia and a rumored main event for UFC 286 in London with Kamaru Usman possibly injured and not able to rematch with Leon Edwards for that show.
