Colin Scotland started learning about marketing as a boy in Liverpool England helping his father set up the stand they sold goods from on the street. He became fascinated with the marketing aspects of it, so went on to get a master's in marketing, and was also teaching it at a college. Along the way, he started an e-commerce business that generated millions of dollars. It was fun and brought him what he thought was a great life, until the time it failed and he lost everything. After that experience, Colin was just getting by. He was plagued by shame, self-doubt and was working three jobs to make ends meet.

It was during an experience teaching in a martial arts studio where he helped one of his students master a concept the student had struggled with. At that moment, the boy got it, and Colin saw in his eyes that a shift had occurred. This feeling became the thing that Colin pursued. He knew he was good at marketing, but didn't want to be just about the mechanics of teaching marketing. He wanted to help his clients make that shift so they became clear not just in their business, but also in their lives.
