Based on Philip K. Dick’s 1966 short story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale,” the movie stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as a construction worker who receives implanted memories of his time working as a spy on Mars—or is he a Martian spy whose memories of life as a construction worker were implanted?
