Natasha Ngan joins me to talk about GIRLS OF PAPER AND FIRE, her upcoming Asian-inspired high fantasy novel. We discuss the recent influx of diverse fantasy books, and the controversy around writing cultures that are, or are not, "your own". Also, we explore how stories about heroines in patriarchal fantasy worlds can be just as empowering as those set in egalitarian worlds.
