In this episode, Dr. Kristin is joined by her cousin, Stephanie Krivohlavek. Stephanie is mom to two young kids as well as the owner of two day spas. Having always struggled with her weight, Steph talks to us about what it was like growing up in a bigger body and describes how years of yo-yo dieting left her feeling like a failure. She decided to focus on her mental health and was diagnosed with binge eating disorder, ADHD and generalized anxiety. After starting appropriate medications and attending weekly therapy she experienced substantial improvements in her mental health and decided to look into bariatric surgery. She had the gastric sleeve procedure at Blossom Bariatrics in Las Vegas almost 1 year ago and has lost 100 lbs to date.
