Your past is in the past and you can’t change it even though you wish you could.

You were operating according to your feelings and needs at the time.

I want to use the example of driving, you have to look ahead and pay attention so that you can stay in your lane, but when you only look in the rearview mirror, you’re going to crash.

You have to be aware and be careful not to let the past suck the life out of you.

All the experiences you’ve ever had in the past are for your learning and to gain the knowledge and understanding you need about yourself and about life.

That’s how you learn and grow and become a better person.

Think about what you learned from those things in the past you wished you could change.

Did you learn how much emotional strength you had?

Did you learn what you like and what you don’t like?

Did you learn what you’re capable of in hard situations?

Did it help you to realize that you’ll never do ‘that’ again?

Did it help you to see your capacity to love and to learn how to
love yourself?

Ask yourself all those kinds of questions and look for any and all
of the positive things that came out of your past.

If you can’t get past your past mistakes, then it will be very
difficult to move forward and focus on the future and create
the kind of life you want to have now.

Your creative assignment: focus on the future
