'The Art of Self-Defense' Writer/Director Riley Stearns Talks About His Dark Comedy

The Art of Self-Defense is a dark comedy about Casey (Jessie Eisenberg) is a 30-something, socially awkward man who gets mugged one night on his way to the grocery store in order to pick up some dog food for his dachshund. Fed up with being bullied, Casey finds a karate dojo and gets taken up in the art as well as dojo culture.

Writer/Director/Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, Riley Stearns discusses how he confronts toxic masculinity without being preachy, the idea of "McDojos" and what true strength is in this film that opens in limited release on Friday, July 12, 2019 and then receives a larger release the following week.
