Georgia residents Ruckus and Lane Skye give us a new look with a 1970s terror in the woods flick entitled The Devil to Pay. The couple co-produced, co-directed and co-wrote the film that stars Danielle Deadwyler, a woman named Lemon, who's husband goes missing and the main suspect is Tommy Runion, played by Catherine Dyer. As Lemon's husband's issues pile up, Tommy decides to take their son, as collateral, leaving a mother with no choice but to avenger her husband and get back the one person in her life that means more to her than anything else.

Thankfully, the film is not torture porn, but a psychological slow burn that has you white knuckling with anticipation. Frankly, I'm surprised I still have fingernails after gnawing down on them to almost a stump. The couple eased my nerves with some of their anecdotes from the set, like needing a baby for a scene in the film and one showing up within 20 minutes of their request. They also discuss how willing and helpful the local community was in the production of the film.

Nature can be a scary place and being lost in the Appalachian mountains adds an extra element of intensity that makes this movie so amazing.

Ruckus and Lane's have also penned the horror film Becky that stars Lulu Wilson, Kevin James and Joel McHale, which was released this past June.

As for The Devil to Pay was released in Drive-Thru Theaters on October 2, 2020 and is not available On Demand and DVD release today, October 6, 2020 via Uncork’d Entertainment and Dark Star Pictures.
