More prominently, Jay Karas is known for having worked on stand up comedy specials in with Bill Burr, Ali Wong, Demetri Martin and Tom Segura, to name a few.

He's also worked on Parks and Recreation, Workaholics and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. So at first thought, doesn't instantly scream "kids movie!" However, Karas has worked on Kirby Buckets, showing his variety of skills in working with multi-generational audiences making him the ideal director for the WWE Studios family friendly film The Main Event, which begins streaming today on Netflix.

The last time I spoke with Karas was at the Newport Beach Film Festival in 2014 for his first major time at the helm of a motion picture with Break Point and lot has changed in 6 years.

I caught up with Karas about The Main Event, how he was able to sports entertainment and make avoid a few chair shots while making this film enticing for the whole family. Check out what he had to say.

For more information on what Jay Karas is up to, follow him on Twitter @jaykaras and catch The Main Event on Netflix.
