Grief is unexpected, an experience that one will never be ready for.  At some point in everyone’s life, there will be at least one encounter with grief.  In this episode, Nina was joined by a special guest; Akunna Okere. Akunna is a Licensed Social worker in the state of PA. She specializes in Behavioral and Mental Health across the lifespan. Her interests include reading, journaling, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. Akunna is passionate about advocacy related to providing a great quality of life to the populations served by her employer as well as A-Ok Consulting.

 

Akunna shared her experience with grief, and the steps she took to navigate the stages of grief.  Together, we talked about the importance of therapy and normalizing it in the Black and community.
