070: Forgiveness in Finances

It's amazing how money can often make monsters out of us. If you've ever borrowed from, or loaned money to others, you may have experienced how the relationship between lender and borrower can become strained.

 

In This Episode, We Look At:

Non re-payment of a debt can lead to the severing of relationships

Jesus teaches that when we lend, do not expect re-payment.

Luke 6:34-35

And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

The person who borrows is expected to repay

Psalms 37:21

The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again:

but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

Non-forgiveness can hinder your walk with Christ

Matthew 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses

Psalm 66:18

If I regard iniquity in my heart,

The Lord will not hear me:

We are not suggesting that if you are in the loan business, to forgive all loans!

 

Improve Your Faith and Finances:

When helping someone in need, do so without expectation of money being returned. You've done it unto the Lord.

Proverbs 3: 27-28 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. 28 Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee

Proverbs 21:26 He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
