If you have a Pastor that preaches the Word of God without compromise, that is something to be thankful for and to rejoice over.

Pastors face many challenges, temptations, and bear burdens that the average church member may be unaware of.

In This Episode, We Look At:

A Pastor's Calling:

Preach the Word—this of course requires hours of study, prayer, and preparation

Nurture the body of Christ—through discipleship and personal investment in their lives.

Common Challenges for Pastors:

An "extra helping" of temptations and spiritual attacks

Critical church members: complaints, gossip, and a wrong view of financial support

The need to compartmentalize; often preaching moments after counselling others over a sin issue

Carrying extra burdens

Supporting Your Pastor:

Pray regularly for his protection as well as a guarded heart and mind

Be in your place:

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:25

Speak well of him and defend him (try to avoid throwing blows!)

Encourage and participate in his financial support

Today's Resources:

Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

 1 Timothy 5:17

"Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things."

Gal 6:6

"Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel."

1 Cor. 9:14
