From one of Youthworks College's Theology Think Tanks from 2022, Dr Ruth Lukabyo shares her research on the early Sunday School movement in Australia. While looking back at the why and how of these early Children's Ministries in the European settlement of Sydney, Ruth asked us to consider the why and how of our ministries today. Are Sunday Schools and Kids' Churches places of mission, discipleship, or both? Do they complement the active discipleship of parents, or are they simply somewhere to keep the kids quiet while adults do "real church"?
