Chris Bruya: How a Small Town in Central Washington Become Known as a Jazz Mecca.

Chris Bruya Director of the Jazz Studies at Central Washington University joins the show to talk about Jazz, Teaching, Ellensburg, and more.

Chris retired from CWU in 2021 after 20 year career in the music department.

We learn about Chris's path to becoming a music educator by completing his undergrad at Central going off to teach and then coming back to Central to obtain a Masters Degree.

Find out some of the reasons that Central is considered one of the best music programs in the U.S. and how it has continued to grow and improve year after year.
