14. Seeking Justice: For Tanner Lane Barton

Tanner Lane Barton was a talented, smart, handsome 19-year-old with a bright future ahead of him. On the 22nd of April 2012, he planned to go to a college party with his girlfriend at Purdue University, but changed his mind at the last minute. One of his friends had been inviting him to his house all day – Tanner finally reached out, asking if the invite was still open. His friend replied that it was. What exactly unfolded that evening is still unclear, and his mom Michele has been fighting for Tanner’s justice ever since.
