Since Independence Day was a crazy-ass day in Houston, here's an episode of The Sour Hour that's equally insane. Instead of ranting at the top of the show, I have a discussion with Will Shropshire, a guy I met a half-hour before at my favorite bar, about America, race and why we can't seem to get anything right. Later on, me and Will talk with journalist/editor Adrienne Johnson Martin (aka one of my old bosses) about the state of contemporary journalism and how dangerous and deadly it's gotten. As for music, I play patriotic tunes from Prince and the Revolution, Logic featuring Chuck D, Black Thought, Big Lenbo and No I.D. and The Crossrhodes featuring Raquel Ra Brown. And stick around for the end when me and Will's girlfriend Nikki sing along to a popular track from the '90s! The Sour Hour airs Wednesday nights, 9/8c, on KPFT HD2.
