Yeah, this episode is packed.

I once again deviate from my routine of opening with a rant (although I do give a shout-out to the late, great Queen of Soul) and have a talk with author/blogger/positive person Alyssa Herren, in the hopes of getting some damn enlightenment in my life. Later on, I play a pre-recorded interview with actor/writer/director Ethan Hawke and actor/musician Ben Dickey, who discuss their new movie Blaze. (II also wrote about it: http://houston.culturemap.com/news/entertainment/08-20-18-ethan-hawke-blaze-houston-landmark-river-oaks-ben-dickey.) As for music, I play tunes from Aretha Franklin (of course!), Robert Glasper featuring Snoop Dogg, Lupe Fiasco & Luke James and Charlie Sexton. And Jeff Bradshaw and Raheem DeVaughn help me out with this week's "Sarah Serenade." (Yes, it has a name now!)
