Back-to-back weeks with a full house plus one.
Well, plus one being Mike "Hardball" Hardge aka "Willie D" and "Cleanup Man".
But, the guest of honor was former Texas Longhorn linebacker, Norman Watkins who was once quoted his true freshman season at Texas in 1991 saying, "I'm too damn good to redshirt."
Stormin' Norm discussed his childhood and upbringing and his long journey to becoming a Longhorn and his dark times in life.
He and Clynch met in the 8th grade at Martin Junior High and have been life long friends ever since.
The elephant in the room was Urban Myer and if he is in fact not committing to becoming Tom Herman's successor.
Watkins discussed the sentiment felt towards the Longhorns program currently and if UT is in fact a blue blood program.
Clynch did some research on overall records since 1980 by college football programs, specifically the perceived blue bloods and how many 4+ loss seasons were experienced. This is a brief result of that research:
Ohio State, 11 seasons
Oklahoma, 12 seasons
Alabama, 13 seasons
Miami (Fl), 17 seasons
Texas, 24 seasons
Texas A&M, 29 seasons
Can't argue facts, but is Texas truly a tier 1 blue blood program?
Norm ended the episode in segment two with a rapid fire Q&A session with the guys and ended with an uplifting story about his former coach, John Mackovic.
During the salute of goodbyes, Hardge caused some laughter with, "take a damn nap"!
