Clynch was solo for episode 31, a lonely outing for him. Big Mike and Coach Mo both had personal and professional obligations. 



So, Clynch lined up a couple of interviews with 2nd year Texas college football coaches. Both are sons of football coaches. Both were accomplished players, and both are intense recruiters. 



Jake Spavital from Texas State University and Colby Carthel from Stephen F. Austin State University. Both Spavital and Carthel will face Shane Buechele and SMU in September.



Spavital is part of an impressive coaching family tree and developed eight NFL quarterbacks.  Carthel won a national title as a head coach of Texas A&M-Commerce prior to accepting the job in Nacogdoches. 



Carthel delivered some humor and Spavital dicussed his relationship with his brother, who is the defensive coordinator at Texas State.
