In Libya, migrants, asylum seekers and refugees are confronted to inhumane living conditions. This dire situation has worsened in recent months due to an escalation of violence.  During the last months, Libyan security authorities have carried out raids against thousands of migrants in the town of Gargaresh, in Tripoli. After those raids, at least 5,000 people were detained, including many women and children. More than 10 migrants were killed.

We met a Libyan activist working for a Libyan human rights organization, which advocates for the rights of migrants and refugees in Libya and monitors the situation in detention centres.
