Before launching Sustainable Strategies, I practiced construction and insurance coverage law in the Seattle area for more than a decade. I leverage this experience to help innovative teams achieve robust sustainability goals.



My work focuses on creating collaborative spaces and uniting diverse groups to mitigate climate change through the built environment. I also specialize in issues related to the intersection of buildings with human health and wellness. My strength lies in my ability to view sustainability issues through a legal and risk management lens.



I also have extensive experience in training and education and am known for my dynamic presentation style. I spent five years as an Affiliate Instructor at the University of Washington, Department of Real Estate Studies, where I taught the course I developed, Risk and Reward in Sustainable Development. In addition to numerous speaking engagements and educational appointments, I am also an award-winning contributing author.
