Jason purchased an outdoor retail business in 2005 that was founded in 1971. He spent the next eleven years wearing various hats, from marketing to operations to inventory control and process improvement. Over his career in retail, he grew the business from $750k to $2m in sales and the team from 12 to 24. During this time, he volunteered as a business mentor and guide at Appalachian State University and with the NC Small Business Technology and Development Center. His practical small business experience, coupled with the ActionCOACH system for building business, make him an invaluable resource for business owners and executives

Edyth Berry is Jason’s favorite teacher and loving wife of 19 years. They joyfully welcomed their son, Silas Richard, in 2008. As a family, they are active in the community, working to raise funds for several impactful organizations such as Sunnyside Ministries, Compassion, International, and Operation Christmas Child- a Samaritans Purse initiative providing gifts and educational materials to less fortunate children worldwide. Jason has served on several philanthropic and civic organizations as a Board Member, including the Western Youth Network, the Downtown Boone Development Association, and the Rotary Club of Blowing Rock.
