Join us as we sit with Dr. Michael Migizi Sullivan Sr, an incredible father and second language learner of Ojibwemowin. He's the Faculty Director of Native American Studies at Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College. He earned his PhD in linguistics from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.

Migizi has helped both Ozaawaa and I during our language journeys with our time at Ojibwemotaadidaa Omaa Gidakiiminaang immersion academy and beyond. We are honoured that he shares his outlook on Ojibwemowin, how he has taught in various capacities, raised children in Ojibwemowin and inspired many more with his gifts of the language.

Migizi's newest book of recorded and transcribed stories from Larry Amik Smallwood, titled 'Plums or nuts: Ojibwe stories of Anishinaabe humor,' can be purchased here:

And the recordings of the stories from the book can be found at the Ojibwe People's Dictionary's webpage: https://ojibwe.lib.umn.edu/
