Supervisor Carpenter has spent close to the last 30 years as an elected official serving in a variety of capacities. For example, she spent 12 years as a representing the 11th District as a Suffolk County Legislator. Following that she was elected as Suffolk County Treasurer for 10 years. She has been Islip Town Supervisor since 2015, where she has overseen the efforts to encourage the use of the Town-owned Islip MacArthur Airport, improve the environment and promote a business-friendly reputation across the town.
