Episode 45: World Traveler to FUNancial Freedom Catalyst with Shivanii Ray

In today’s episode, I am so excited to be speaking with the brilliant and effervescent Shivanii Ray of Funancial Freedom.

Shivanii shares with us how she came to be such a strong advocate for financial literacy for children and teens, and much of the impetus came from traveling the world for 5 years with her family. There’s a poignant moment in our conversation where Shivanii tells us that some of the happiest people she met in her travels were also some of the poorest, living in conditions that most in the western world would consider unacceptable. It was as a young teenager that she realized that money is not the key to happiness, but is a tool which can be used to open doors, buy things you want, and to help others. 

You won’t want to miss when she tells the story about how her mom helped a woman get medical treatment, and the impact it made on Shivanii in wanting to dedicate a percentage of her financial resources to helping others.

Shivanii’s Bio:

Shivanii Ray is a 21 year old International Speaker and Gamification Expert, who uses her worldly experiences to inspire others to live life outside the box and on their own terms. When she was 10, after her family was forced out of the US due to immigration issues, she spent 5 years travelling around the world. Growing up globally, Shivanii was able to learn on her own terms which led her to become a certified NLP Practitioner and a certified Scuba Diver both by the age 12. 

The Global Face and Community Champion of FUNancial Freedom, Shivanii now helps kids and teens become financially smart. After realising the standard education system often falls short when teaching children things like financial literacy and mindset tools, she now helps kids and teens fill in the gaps and thrive in these areas. 

Shivanii emceed her first event at age 8 for 2,500 people and has since spoken at numerous entrepreneurial events across 4 continents, even sharing the stage with the legendary Les Brown. For her expertise, she has been featured on Good Morning America, NBC, FOX, ABC, and several international newspapers and magazines.
