There are two ways we live as a Christian. We are either in Adam (sin) or in Christ (salvation). In 1 Timothy 6:11-13, Paul describes how we can live in Christ. We must run from sin and pursue righteousness, holiness, and godliness; fight the good fight of faith; and take hold of eternal life.
