David Konstan is Professor of Classics at New York University, Professor Emeritus at Brown University and a member of the ARC Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions Advisory Board. His research focuses on ancient Greek and Latin literature, especially comedy and the novel, and classical philosophy. This lecture, which asks ‘Did Aristotle Recognise Aesthetic Emotions?’, was delivered at the Institute of Greece, Rome and the Classical Tradition (http://www.bristol.ac.uk/igrct) at the University of Bristol in April 2017.
