How Can You Tell?

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

Synopsis: People in his day might have had a problem identifying Zacchaeus in a crowd (Luke 19:1-10).  In fact, they might have problems even seeing him. He was an influential man though short in statue.  His influence changed when he came face to face with Jesus.  Everyone around him could tell the difference. “How can you tell?”  He started giving back that which he had wrongfully taken.  That was a first for Zacchaeus but he was not the first to be transformed by his encounter with Jesus.  When faith flourishes love does too (2 Thessalonians1:3).  “Look at the proud!  They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked.  But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.” (Habakkuk 2:4)
