Jason Rogers launched Yabai, America's first domestic "chuhai" in 2020. Chuhai is a shochu-based alcoholic beverage that is extremely popular in Japan. As a professional skateboarder in his teens and twenties Jason traveled extensively, including multiple trips to Japan. After running skateboard companies into adult life, he looked to pivot to another industry. While chatting with a friend about high calorie beer options, the idea to research Japanese chuhai began. After a few years of research, licensing, and testing Yabai was released.
