Leading people is an ongoing battle. Each individual is different, so how do you lead and manage them effectively? Start with yourself. As a leader, do not point fingers at your subordinates. Take ownership of your team and constantly look to get better. If you are willing to hire someone, trust them to do the work they are supposed to be doing. That means don’t micromanage them, don’t tell them when they need to do everything, and give them the freedom to think outside the box. Giving this trust is a new movement over the past decade, with companies allowing their employees to work from home, have unlimited vacation, and wear whatever they want to work. When you have the right employees and you start taking ownership, you’ll find a lot more overall happiness in the workplace.
